The Process

Step 1: Collection and evaluation

All technical and legal data of the vessel is collected, together with audiovisual material, including additional shots for targeted, rapid viewing. This is followed by a value assessment based on global market, geographic location, features and condition to determine a marketing strategy and targeting.

Step 2: Promotion and Negotiation

The vessel is promoted directly to an extensive and selected clientele, globally, ensuring a broad and dynamic presence in the market. This is followed by negotiation of terms, signing of the MOA with payment of a deposit, as well as organization of inspections and sea trials, ensuring a smooth and professional course towards the completion of the transaction.

Step 3: Completing the transaction

The process is completed by drawing up all the necessary documents, including the final sales agreement. This is followed by payment and the official delivery of the vessel. In this way, the sale of your boat is completed smoothly and safely.

Frequently asked questions

The MOA is a binding document that sets out the main terms of the purchase and sale of a vessel before the final transfer. It is drafted on the basis of the international MYBA standard and includes the price, deadlines, completion conditions, as well as clauses for positive inspection and sea trial.

Its signature marks the payment of an advance to an escrow agent, ensuring the transparency and security of the transaction for all parties involved.

The KYC (Know Your Client) process is a mandatory international step designed to ensure the legality of transactions, fraud prevention, money laundering and other illegal activities. It involves the verification of the identity and financial status of the customer, whether a natural or legal person.

In this context, YachtingMates will request specific documentation, depending on the legal form of the client, in order to carry out the required checks. The process is carried out with discretion, speed and with the aim of minimizing the burden on the client.

The information and documents provided are kept by YachtingMates in strict confidentiality and restricted access, in accordance with applicable law.

A yacht broker is not just a middleman; he acts as a strategic advisor who organises and coordinates the entire sales process. From the preparation and presentation of the yacht to the final delivery, he ensures that each stage is handled with precision, professionalism and speed.

Interprets the market, connects with the appropriate clientele, coordinates screenings and technical audits, negotiates terms and oversees marine testing and inspections. This maximises the value of the vessel, speeds up the sales process and ensures the best possible terms for the seller.

Market knowledge, experience and comprehensive guidance make the broker a valuable partner of the seller, ensuring an organized, safe and quality sales process.

With the required pilot's licence, a private individual can operate yachts up to the 24-metre category, as defined by European legislation. However, for vessels approaching this size, the presence of at least two crew members is highly desirable in order to ensure that the navigation, safety and technical support of the vessel are carried out with the appropriate professionalism.
